I still cannot understand why if I post a small (600px wide) image, Kinja resizes it to a smaller dimension, so spoiling my good will of saving some bandwidth, and making it shitty looking. On the contrary if I decide to kill Gaia, some thousands of whales and a few baby seals, and enlarge that same image to a width of at least 900px (but I make it 1Kpx, just for the sake of it, because I hate the tree-huggers), well then the image is NOT resized and shines in all its glory. Moral: the aim of Kinja is to destroy the world.

Mexico was lucky to get that AMG V12 Sprinter. Too bad they never sold it up here :(

what's the exact resolution/ratio of the new resize? I know it was posted at some point, but it's making all of my images look like shit. On an imageboard. Who would have thought.

1000 px width, will show the picture at full post. The bigger, the better. And you can put your captions over or below your pictures, and Kinja won't mess with your formatting.

My Google must be broken. All I can find on the subject is another mention by you of this mythical creature in an earlier Jalopnik news article about Sprinters and a series of three prototype AMG Mercedes Sprinter's made for the Sultan of Brunei which don't seem to be sporting a V12 but rather a ordinary turbo-diesel.
How they'd even fit that beast of an engine in there is beyond my comprehension. Here shown in the engine bay of an enormous 1963 Mercedes 600 "Grosser" Pullman Convertible (You just know a dictator owns it, don't you?):

I originally found about the V12 Sprinters on Wikipedia. A cursory Google search provided me with a few good hits .
In regards to big engines in small van engine bays, the Americans did it for about 40 years (half the engine of an Econoline/Chevy (Express)Van/Ram Van is behind the dash!)
Yeah, it's a shame about the Grosser dictators; it's like, don't these companies have a fucking conscience? Germany should've totally had an embargo on them!

Yep, my Google was definitely broken, I got none of that. I looked through a few of the hits and it all seems to be forum hear-say and no factual information behind it. Even the wiki article linked from one of the forums is deleted and if deleted wiki articles aren't dubious I don't know what is. I don't mean to be a dick, I'd like nothing more than this to be true, but I'm not sure I'm buying the (Anti) cartel-spec AMG van story. Possibly originated after the head of AMG changed job to head the Mercedes Benz van division a few years back? Or have they really laid down the law and banned anyone from reporting and writing about these high-power police cars (I saw one of the forums mentioned they were police specials)?
I do know you could get the Ford E-series "Free Candy"-vans with their Triton V10. I lust for one.
The Sprinter doesn't have quite the same engine case inside the car as American vans tend to have, but it might fit as it's "only" six cylinders long and it already comes with 5's.

Yeah I just realized sometime after that last post of mine that the V12 Sprinter is probably fake. :(
The V10 E-series is awesome; I'm surprised Dodge didn't do a V1o van especially since they have more experience with that layout!
And remember, if it can fit six cylinders, it can fit 12!
You know what? If I ever have the money, I'm making my own AMG Mercedes-Valdez Sprinter-E!

I guess Dodge's V10 isn't much of a cheap (In a good way) workhorse in the same way the Triton engine is, so their sales would be limited even more than the RAM SRT-10. But imagine a Dajiban with a Viper engine though.
The Sprinter only fit five in a row from the factory, but some relocated radiators and frontal accessories can hopefully solve that. The funny thing is that If you were to create AMG Sprinter Cartel-Special today you'd pay less for an S600 donor than the Sprinter van.
Off to trawl E-Bay, there goes my evening.

Oh yeah whoops, that's right it's a V6, not an I6 as I was thinking!
Actually, Dodge did indeed have a workhorse V10 in their Ram pickup in the late 90s to early 00s (the 94-whatever generation); of course they stopped offering the low-output V10 once the SRT came along. The 90s truck V10 had about 300 hp and 450 tq.

That's true, it had slipped my mind that Lamborghini were given blueprints for a truck V10 based on the 360 V8 to turn into a sportscar engine for the Viper, it didn't start off as an SRT engine. Pretty weird it wasn't available in the vans! You can get the V10 Dodge's as ambulances though...

I saw V10 regular pickups for like $3000, so it's likely the cheapest V10 out there!
